from goodreads: Anna and Bennett were
never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012
San Francisco. But Bennett has the unique ability to travel through time
and space, which brings him into Anna’s life, and with him a new world
of adventure and possibility.
As their relationship deepens, the
two face the reality that time may knock Bennett back to where he
belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe
into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to
ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate, what
consequences they can bear in order to stay together, and whether their
love can stand the test of time.
Fresh, exciting, and deeply
romantic, Time Between Us is a stunning, spellbinding debut from an
extraordinary new voice in YA fiction.
I loved this debut novel by Tamara Stone. Both Anna and Bennett were such individual characters. I envied Anna's job working in the family-owned bookstore, and I envied Bennett's ability to be able to travel anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye. I loved that they were able to find time to be together.
I enjoyed the time-travel theme. It was written in an uncomplicated way that wasn't hard to follow. It was nice to read a book set in 1995--it was fun to be reminded of the music and culture of this time period. It was a good reminder of how people used to interact with each other. Anna and Bennett actually had to go to each others' houses! It was great to see a relationship develop without the use of cell phones. I also liked how the author showed that even as Anna and Bennett's relationship grew, their interactions with family and friends remained a priority.
This is a fun, well-written book--one I would definitely recommend. To see a cute trailer for this book narrated by Tamara Ireland Stone, visit her website.
