from goodreads: One small act of love
blooms into something bigger and more dazzling than Little Miss could
have ever imagined in this epic journey about life, kindness, and giving.
My taste in picture books has changed over the years. I used to like long picture books with details pictures, but now I love simple stories that deliver a big message with few words.
This book is adorable. You can't help but fall in love with Little Miss right from the beginning. She plants a kiss, and gives it everything a seed needs to grow: water and sunlight, and soil. It was fun to see Little Miss's emotions as she waits for the seed to sprout. She exhibits hope, patience and frustration--which the illustrations show clearly. After a long wait, she is rewarded with more than the vine that grows from the seed.
I enjoyed not only the simplicity of this book, but the messages throughout. I love the repetition of rhymes
and the simple illustrations. Together, they create a charming,
irresistible book, one we have read over and over again!
