It's rare that a book can leave me with no words. The story struck a very strong chord with me. It was honestly amazing. I started reading it Monday night. I only intended on reading a couple of chapters, but COULD NOT put the book down. I stayed up late and finished it that night. It started out reminiscent of the show 'How I Met Your Mother', with the parents telling their kids a story from their past. There are two men in Chloe's life, but it's so well-written, though, you don't know who she ends up with until the end.
The romance and courtship of the main characters was enough to keep me reading, but the other plot line of losing a child really drew me in. Nine years ago, I too, lost a baby. While my story is a bit different than Chloe's, her emotions so perfectly echoed those of my own. I really felt her pain and loss. It was heart-breaking to see what she had to go through alone, and I really admired the quiet strength of her character. I think this book could be a great comfort for those grieving the loss of a baby, just as a reminder that they're not alone.
I love love love that
this book shows the couple's relationship growing, and the acts of love that really
tie them together. Throughout the book, they quote movie lines to try and stump the other. I thought that was very creative and fun. "Is this a kissing book?" YES! Yes, it is. This book has one of the best kissing scenes in it
that I've ever read. I love
that the scene is written not to show what is happening physically, but
emotionally. I loved the themes of triumph over adversity, and having faith to find yourself and love again. I'm not usually a romance reader, but this story melted my
heart.
